You took extra money out of my PayPal account!

Many of our clients choose to pay us via PayPal and due to the convenience they often use PayPal Subscriptions to automatically make their payments when the time comes to pay their invoices.  Due to the nature of PayPal Subscriptions many times this can lead to confusion and over-payment and this article will address these issues.

When a PayPal Subscription is created to pay a recurring debt such as a hosting bill the Subscription is configured to make the payment every month within 24 hours of the due date.  At DeluxeSites.com we generate invoices as far as 14 days in advance of the invoice due date and should you be paying automatically via PayPal Subscription you will still receive invoice notifications and reminders up until the day that the invoice is automatically paid via the PayPal Subscription.

Should you make a manual payment and then your PayPal Subscription automatically pays us as well that extra payment will be added to your account as a credit and used to satisfy any future invoices.  A good way to tell if this has happened is if you are getting invoices for $0.00 which would indicate that the invoice was automatically paid out of a credit.  If you find that you are carrying a credit balance we suggest logging into PayPal and cancelling your PayPal Subscription until your account clears this credit.

Should you cancel your account and then find that you forgot to cancel your PayPal Subscription simply open a ticket by mailing support@deluxesites.com and we will be more than happy to refund any sort of over-payment on a closed account however if you carry other services with us the over-payment will be kept as a credit on the account to go towards those other services.
